John brings over two decades of experience working in payer strategy and market access for medical device, diagnostics, and precision health companies, having held senior roles at Roche, Ventana Medical Systems, Exact Sciences, and Lucid Diagnostics. John’s notable accomplishments include leading a large team to expand coverage for a novel technology from 10 million to over 100 million lives. He has secured Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) National Coverage Determinations, in one case broadening the market for a unique diagnostic test from 500,000 to over 5 million patients.
John has obtained in-network contracts with more than 100 private payers and managed revenue cycle activities that have raised revenue from $0 to $25 million USD. He has worked with Palmetto GBA’s MolDX Program (through CMS) to secure coverage for multiple breakthrough diagnostic tests. He has obtained numerous AMA Category 1 CPT codes and 3 Proprietary Laboratory Analysis (PLA) codes, navigating the CMS payment process to finalize reimbursement rates.
